High quality audio is something aspiring musicians and enthusiasts truly appreciate; getting it right in a small package can be hard to find– yet the Sennheiser IE8’s are an exceptional buy almost without compromise. For $499 - Sennheiser, easily the best-known name in the music industry, has introduced the IE8 in ear monitors. These in-ear headphones, have been awarded our coveted “Editors’ Choice Award” for their outstanding performance and attention to detail. Here’s the breakdown: Exceptional Sound Quality & Clarity Sound quality, including the ultralow-frequency response and high-frequency responses are exceptional. There simply is little better to compare to – especially in something compact in size. There is very little to no distortion (regardless of volume) and is an overwhelmingly pleasurable audio experience. Customization-Customization-Customization Unlike most headphones and monitors on the market, the IE8’s give the user a lot of flexibility as to adjusting their individual experience with the monitors. However, unlike most other comparable monitors little to no adjustment is required for a satisfying experience. Little Details Pack Punch Everything in this small package, like many other Sennheiser products seems to have been thought through. From a good selection of tips to the hard shell magnetic protective case there really isn’t anything missing. Sennheiser has done an exceptional job of covering all the bases (even using silver connectors over gold – our preference.) Premium Price for Compact Size Beyond the quality of the product, a hard thing to overlook is the obviously highflying price. That being said, its’ certainly worth the money if you’re looking for exceptional quality from a small package. If you are more conscious of the price paid look at something in the close price range such as the little-brother of this model the IE7. Summary Overall, this product is well-worth the investment that is made. Unlike most other in-ear monitors which tend to be lack-luster and usually disappointing – these go where no other monitors have gone before. Exceptional quality, exceptional design and winner of our 2011 Editors’ Choice Award for Personal Audio. |
